LED Lighting is a type of lighting technology that utilizes Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to convert electrical energy into light. This type of lighting has been around since the 1960s and it has been steadily gaining in popularity over the years due to its many advantages including energy efficiency, reliability, and durability. In comparison to traditional lighting sources such as incandescent, halogen, and fluorescent bulbs, LED lighting can provide much more efficient and cost–effective lighting solutions. LED lighting fixtures produce a much brighter light with a higher color rendering index (CRI) than incandescent and halogen lights. Additionally, LED lighting can be dimmed without any significant change to its light output.
LED lighting also has a much longer lifespan than its traditional counterparts, requiring much less frequent maintenance and replacement of bulbs, making it the ideal solution for both residential and commercial applications. LED lighting is also a very eco–friendly option due to its much lower power consumption. This allows users to save a significant amount of energy and money over the long–term, as LED lighting can last for up to 50,000 hours.
Additionally, LED lighting fixtures produce very little waste heat, making them ideal for installations in locations where cooling is a factor.
